How To Win Your First Remix Contest

Start with the hook

Judges hear hundreds of entries. The first 20 seconds decide whether they keep listening. Lead with your strongest idea — don't bury it under a 90-second intro.

Treat the drop as the thesis of your remix. Everything before it should set it up; everything after should justify it.

Respect the vocal

Artists choose winners that elevate the topline. Re-pitch carefully, time-stretch with grain mode, and leave room in the mix for the voice to breathe.

Mix loud, master clean

Your remix is competing against tracks that were mastered for streaming. Aim for around -9 LUFS integrated, true-peak below -1dB, and avoid harsh 3–5kHz buildup.

Submit early

Early submissions get more plays in the public voting window. Don't wait for the last 24 hours.
