Contest Rules & Prize Policy
How R3mix contests work — from entry to payout. Read this alongside each contest's specific brief.

1. Nature of Contests
R3mix contests are skill-based contests. Entries are evaluated by people — judges, hosts, and/or the R3mix community — based on the quality of the work submitted. They are not sweepstakes, lotteries, or games of chance, and no purchase or payment is ever required to enter or win.
- Judged on creativity, originality, and production quality.
- May include community engagement (votes, plays, shares) as a scoring factor when stated in the brief.
- Random chance plays no role in determining winners.
2. Eligibility
- Entrants must own — or have valid permission to use — every element of their submission, including stems, samples, vocals, and artwork.
- Each contest may set additional eligibility rules (region, age, genre, account standing). Those rules are listed in the contest brief.
- R3mix may disqualify any entry that is fraudulent, infringing, misleading, manipulated by inauthentic engagement, or otherwise in breach of platform policies.
3. Submission Guidelines
- Submissions must be original work or built from properly licensed material (including stems officially provided for the contest).
- No illegal, hateful, harmful, or otherwise infringing content. We review and remove submissions that breach these rules.
- Follow the technical requirements in each brief — file format, length, BPM, and naming conventions where specified.
- Late, incomplete, or corrupted entries may be excluded from judging.
4. Contest Duration
- Contests may run for up to 90 days.
- Recommended duration is around 30 days, balanced for momentum and quality of entries.
- R3mix may extend, shorten, modify, pause, or cancel a contest if circumstances require it (technical issues, sponsor changes, integrity concerns, etc.). Material changes are communicated to entrants.
5. Judging & Winner Selection
- Winners are determined by R3mix and/or the contest host according to the criteria stated in the brief.
- Judging may combine expert panels, host preference, and community engagement signals.
- All judging decisions are final and not subject to appeal, except in cases of clear administrative error.
6. Prizes & Payout Terms
- Prizes may include cash, digital goods (plugins, samples, subscriptions), physical items, label opportunities, or promotional features.
- Cash prizes are paid on a Net 30 basis after the winner is confirmed and required payout details have been submitted.
- R3mix may verify winners before payout — including identity, ownership of submitted content, and absence of fraudulent activity.
- Fraud, plagiarism, manipulated voting, or any rules violation voids eligibility and forfeits the prize. Forfeited prizes may be re-awarded at R3mix's discretion.
- Winners are responsible for any taxes, fees, or transfer charges applicable in their jurisdiction.
7. Third-Party Sponsors
Some contests are run with brand, label, or platform sponsors. Sponsors may contribute prizes, judging, promotion, or release opportunities.
- Sponsor-provided prizes (gear, software licenses, label deals, etc.) are governed by the sponsor's own terms.
- R3mix is not liable for the actions, products, services, or performance of any third-party sponsor.
- If a sponsor withdraws or fails to deliver, R3mix will work in good faith to provide a comparable resolution where reasonably possible.
8. Right to Modify
R3mix may update these rules, individual contest briefs, timelines, judging criteria, or prize structures when necessary — for example to address technical issues, legal requirements, or integrity concerns. Material changes affecting active entrants will be communicated through the platform.
